The refugee plot is handled with surprising care. Jirukoma and Komain are actual characters with conflicting perspectives, not just plot devices. The birth scene ties everything together thematically.One thing I especially appreciated: Souma isn't the hero here. He suggests the C-section, sure, but it's Hilde and the Three-Eyes medical knowledge that actually saves the day. I enyoyed the episode very much.
