Synopsis
Together with his talented aides, the "Realist Hero" Kazuya Souma continues his quest of reinvigorating the Elfrieden Kingdom through administrative reform. Having successfully conquered Van—the capital city of the Principality of Amidonia—Kazuya now faces the envoy from Gran Chaos Empire, who wishes to impose punishment for breaching the ban on war established by the Mankind Declaration Treaty. Despite the dire situation, Kazuya sees a path to avoid unnecessary conflict whilst gaining new allies. With his plan being seemingly perfect, the only barrier to success is gaining approval from the envoy. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Quick Takes
View all 39 takesBut the political segment is fine, the sauce scene is fun, and Liscia and Souma's quiet moment at the end is genuinely nice.
The refugee plot is handled with surprising care. Jirukoma and Komain are actual characters with conflicting perspectives, not just plot devices. The birth scene ties everything together thematically. One thing I especially appreciated: Souma isn't the hero here. He suggests the C-section, sure, but it's Hilde and the Three-Eyes medical knowledge that actually saves the day. I enyoyed the episode very much.
