Your Name.
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Stuck in a tiny rural town and dreaming about life in Tokyo, high school girl Mitsuha wants more than what she's got. Taki is a high school guy actually living in Tokyo, juggling school and a part-time job. One morning, they each wake up in the other's body. No explanation, no warning, just suddenly living someone else's life. They figure out they're swapping intermittently, leaving each other notes and phone messages to keep things from falling apart, and through all this chaos, they start to genuinely care about each other. Which gets complicated when they've never actually met. This is a Makoto Shinkai movie, and if you've seen 5 Centimeters per Second, you know he's got a thing for emotional distance between people, but Your Name takes that idea and wraps it in body-swapping, fate, and a plot that gets way more layered than the premise suggests. The animation from CoMix Wave Films is gorgeous in a way that makes you pause frames just to look at the scenery. Radwimps did the soundtrack, and the music is so woven into the storytelling that scenes hit harder because of it. If you liked A Silent Voice for its emotional weight or Patema Inverted for its high-concept romance, this hits a similar spot. It's funny early on, then the emotional stuff creeps in and doesn't let go. One movie, about two hours, and it earns every minute.

This anime makes you wonder at times, if you could change your past mistakes, would you? Those mistakes build your character, but imagine life being filled with perfection. Or think about it this way, would you want to have a better life, but that means someone else lives it for you? This anime makes you ask those questions. The ending is something spectacular, it'll have you on the edge of your seat, hoping that your desire for the main characters comes true.
One of master of the anime ☄️
Breathtaking animation although rather lacking in romance aspect personally
This may be the best anime movie I've watched in a long time. The story is exceptionally well written, and both main characters have distinct personalities that shine independently of the overall plot. It's an emotional film with an excellent plot twist, and I highly recommend it.
A movie packed with emotions, the story really took me for a ride from one part to another. Overall, the animations and the art is incredible, the music is absolutely amazing and the emotional impact is great. But I do feel that the characters aren't super well written, aren't super in depth and the pacing is a bit fast compared to how much the story wanted to tell.
bad
QUE PELICULA INCREIBLE, DESDE LA BANDA SONORA HASTA LA ANIMACION Y LA HISTORIA ES HERMOSA Y GRACIOSA, DE LAS MEJORES PELICULAS DE ANIME

The chemistry between Taki and Mitsuha feels genuine, and the soundtrack perfectly complements the story. Average anime, really overrated
I like this series. Although I forgot the anime as time pass on, I will never forget this anime's existence through animation, characters, world building, and everything related to this anime.
I love the animation!! That, the music, and the story all combined made me love it so so much. I cry almost everytime I watch this freaking movie. Gosh man. It's so gorgeous
it was decent a bit overrated

mis
beautiful
The cave scene in Your Name is one of the most symbolic and emotional moments in the entire film. When Taki finds the kuchikamizake Mitsuha made and chooses to drink it, the act becomes more than a ritual — it’s a bridge between their worlds. The movie treats this moment with quiet reverence, showing how deeply Taki wants to reconnect with her, even when time and fate are pulling them apart. The atmosphere inside the cave is haunting and beautiful, and the choice he makes feels both desperate and intimate. It’s the turning point where the story shifts from coincidence to destiny, reminding you how powerful their bond truly is. This scene captures the heart of the film: connection, longing, and the belief that some people are meant to find each other no matter what.
The concept of finding love which that it doesn't exist
