Synopsis
Teaching high school and nursing a quiet crush on his colleague Yayoi Satsuki, Arihiko Tairaku has the kind of low-stakes, comfortable existence most people would be fine with. Then Aya Shirakaba, one of his students, decides she's in love with him, and her father — a yakuza boss — decides the best solution is to move her into Tairaku's apartment. Nobody asked Tairaku. Nobody really cares what Tairaku thinks. Aya is forward, relentless, and absolutely not subtle about her intentions, while Tairaku is stuck trying to keep things professional, stay alive, and somehow not blow his chances with Satsuki. The yakuza angle is what keeps this from being a standard rom-com setup — there's a low hum of genuine danger underneath all the awkward living-arrangement comedy, which gives it a different texture than you'd expect from a two-episode ecchi OVA. The late 90s AIC animation has that soft, warm look from the era if you have any nostalgia for that period. It is short, breezy, and does not overstay its welcome at two episodes. If you liked the low-stakes romantic tension of something like Ojisan to Marshmallow, this scratches a similar itch, just with more chaos and a mob boss in the background. Going in with modest expectations, it lands pretty well for what it is.
