Description

Personality

Balladbird Lee is portrayed as a calm and collected individual, a stark contrast to his more outwardly ambitious colleague, Harry MacDowell. He values his friendships deeply, particularly his bond with Bob Poundmax, demonstrating loyalty and a willingness to make difficult choices for his friends' well-being. While ambitious himself, Lee prioritizes Harry's vision, subtly supporting his rise within Millennion. His quiet demeanor masks a capacity for ruthless efficiency, as evidenced by his actions in eliminating those deemed too weak for Superiorization. The contrast between his calm exterior and the violent actions he takes, particularly in his Superior form, highlights a complex personality. Lee's transformation into his Superior form reveals a more volatile and aggressive side, marked by a high-pitched laugh that contrasts sharply with his usual composure. His actions in the later stages of the story, driven by grief and a desire for revenge, showcase a darker side of his personality, though his motivations remain rooted in his loyalty and sense of justice, albeit a twisted one.

Abilities

As a human, Balladbird Lee is a highly skilled user of senbon (thin, long needles), capable of swiftly incapacitating even armed opponents like Harry MacDowell. His skill allows him to disappear from sight and strike with precision. Upon becoming a Superior, Lee's abilities drastically change depending on the adaptation. In the game, he transforms into a bulbous figure with one bladed leg and one machine-gun-like leg, allowing for powerful slashing attacks and rapid movement. He can bisect a train car with a single strike. However, this form is vulnerable to omnidirectional attacks. In the anime, his Superior form is more insectoid, with four bladed legs and a human upper body. He gains the ability to rapidly fire bladed appendages from his feet and sleeves, capable of slicing bullets in mid-air. He can detach these appendages for use as projectiles and possesses enhanced speed, easily catching up to a moving subway car. His Superior form also grants him immunity to standard and anti-Orgmen bullets.
