At least the fight in space was entertaining. In the early episodes, the humor blended well with the plot and helped lighten the story, but in these final moments, it's more of a hindrance. The main villain is ridiculous; he doesn't pose a real threat. However, there is a valuable lesson in the episode, which essentially reaffirms the series' central theme: one should be free to choose how to live their own life. The affection the lodge residents have for each other feels very organic, warm like a found family. Despite the flaws, the ending is satisfying.

Quick Takes
View all 47 takesWhat on earth was that?! Believe me, I was expecting something clichéd and rushed, but this episode was way worse than I anticipated. Oh, the key was right under our noses this whole time; muahaha, they didn't expect it to be the bad guy; the protagonist gets to show off in front of his beloved in a fight, proving he's a real man; cringeworthy declarations; and it all just happens for no reason. I really didn't enjoy this episode at all, and I'm already afraid to move on to the next one.
After so many chapters, we finally learn a little more about Matsubara. Her story isn't particularly complex, but it's still enjoyable to understand her motivations and her perspective on life. Although the jealousy scenes bother me a bit, they do help to build up the moment when Mira makes the decision we all know she's going to make. The story progresses in a predictable way; I don't think anyone is unaware of how it will all end. However, the wait to find out who the final enemy is does create tension.
