Jinta Yadomi, a recluse, encounters the ghost of his dead childhood friend, Menma. To help Menma move on to the afterlife, he must reunite with his estranged childhood friends and confront unresolved issues stemming from Menma's death, forcing them to confront their grief and guilt together, ultimately impacting their own lives and futures.
